This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Winter TBR. I don’t stick to a TBR even if I make one, but I do like to list out some of the books I hope to read each month or over a few months. Here are several books I want to read soon.
Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan: I somehow was approved of an early digital copy through NetGalley, but unlike normal people, I haven’t started it yet. I want to, but the release date is so far out and I don’t want to rush through reading it. I want to take my time.
Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater: I hope I get to read this book before the end of the year, but I decided to reread The Raven Cycle via audiobook first and it took longer than I expected. Soon.
Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger: The middle school girls I teach at church have adamantly told me to read this series. But they are so big and so many. I hope to read one a month until I’m caught up for whatever book is released next year.
Lovely War by Julie Berry: I heard about this book a few months back and added it to my TBR list. But recently, I learned that the audiobook is phenomenal, so I decided to listen to it instead of read it.
Arc of a Scythe series by Neal Shusterman: I’ve been told by so many people to read these books. Since the trilogy is finally completed, I want to read them.
Jurassic Park and The Lost World by Michael Crichton: I’ve already started Jurassic Park, but I hope to read both books before the end of the year. It’s interesting see how they changed certain aspects for the movie!
One of Us Is Lying and One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus: I think these books are being made into a TV show, so I’d like to read them before that comes out. Plus, I’ve heard such good things about them and it’s perfect timing since book two comes out in January.
Jane Austen books: I want to reread Jane Austen’s novels. I probably won’t get to all of them this winter, but I’d like to start in January with one of them and try to reread one a month.
Books I own: I know I always put this on my list, but I really do want to read through books I own that I haven’t read yet. It just takes time and finding enough interest in some of the titles and not being distracted by shiny new books. I’m making an effort to get through more of my back list TBR in 2020.
Books for review: I have a few books I need to read for NetGalley reviews, but I’m hoping over the next few months I’ll be approved for more titles. Obviously, I’ll want to read each one before their publication date.
