This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is New-to-Me Authors I Read In 2018. Every year I read a lot of books, so it’s not surprising that I discover new authors. Here are ten authors that have earned by trust with their books.

Emma Mills: I’m not always a YA contemporary fan, but I enjoyed Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills. I hope to read more of her books this year, including her latest Famous in a Small Town.

Emery Lord: She earned by trust with her book The Names They Gave Us. It spoke to me in a way a lot of Christian fiction never did. I already snagged a used copy of one of her other books, and I hope to read it and a few of other others sometime this year.

Ashley Poston: Geekerella was so much fun and while I wanted a bit more from Heart of Iron, I appreciated what Ashley did with her retelling. I’m excited for both The Princess and the Fangirl and Soul of Stars to be released this year.

Kimberly Brubaker Bradley: She wrote two of my favorite historical middle grade stories, The War that Saved My Life and its sequel The War I Finally Won. Even if that is everything I read by her, it will be enough. But I want to read more.

Justina Ireland: Dread Nation was so awesome and odd that I loved it. I look forward to the sequel and whatever else Justina writes in the future.

Nadine Brandes: Nadine’s Instagram and Youtube accounts, more than her books, captured my attention. I enjoyed Fawkes and I look forward to Romanov, but her upbeat personality and advice for writers is what earns her a spot on my favorite’s author list.

Tessa Gratton: The Queens of Innis Lear was so good that I hope to read more of her books soon.

Ruta Sepetys: Salt to the Sea and Between Shades of Gray both blew me away. I want to read her other book, Out of Easy, soon, and anything else she might publish in the future.

Jenn Bennett: I have a love/hate relationship with Starry Eyes, but I’m willing to give Jenn’s other books a chance as well. I’m looking forward to her 2019 release, Serious Moonlight.

Emily X.R. Pan: The Astonishing Color of After stole my breath away. The beautiful prose paired with the intense, emotion-fed story was incredible. If Emily writes more books in the future, I will read them.
